23 May 2016 / Categories: News CM2000 staff become Dementia Friends During Dementia Awareness Week, CM2000 organised Dementia Friends training to give staff more insight into the biggest health challenge facing society. Dementia Friends Champion, Sharon Milledge from Westminster Homecare, ran the informative sessions which helped staff get a better understanding of the condition. The training gave staff an insight into how dementia eats away at your memories, and affects thinking and communication. Sharon conducted some practical exercises which got staff to think about what living with dementia could mean. This was great for challenging preconceived ideas about the condition, and also made people think about how small actions can make a difference to living well with dementia. Staff feedback was incredibly positive, describing the training as “informative” and “enlightening”. This is one of a series of activities CM2000 are doing to spread the word about dementia and raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society.
